Accounting Manager

About the role

As a member of a global Finance team, this individual will be exposed to a wide range of opportunities including financial reporting, consolidations, tax, budgeting, international operations, and various cross-functional initiatives. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in a fast-growing, late-stage start-up company. The position reports to the Vice President of Finance and oversees a team of 2-3 individuals. Company’s headquarters are located in the Illinois Science + Technology Park in Skokie with easy access to public transportation - yellow line stop just outside of the building. 

Key Duties:

  • Oversee the financial close process and ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results
  • Support financial operations through cross-functional and external collaborations
  • Subsidiary reporting, intercompany transactions and eliminations
  • Statutory reporting; assist with annual ICP submissions for government contracts
  • Assist with the annual audit with a “Big 4” firm
  • Support tax return preparation and filings across multiple tax jurisdictions
  • Equity and stock compensation research and accounting
  • Assist with the development of the annual budget
  • Work on special projects, research issues, and provide analysis, as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service to our internal “customers” – (i.e. co-workers in other departments)
  • Ensure adherence and compliance with company policies and procedures

Qualifications and Experience:


  • CPA required, preferably public accounting and SOX experience
  • 5+ years of progressive working experience, especially in a startup environment
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP. IFRS experience preferred
  • Strong ERP systems experience, NetSuite preferred
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Attention to details
  • A passion for LanzaTech and its mission
